Know Someone Who Deserves Recognition?
Do you know an individual or group who has gone above and beyond to make a difference in the Lincoln County R-III School District or our community? We’d love to hear about them! The Board of Education offers several ways to recognize outstanding contributions, including Board of Education Awards, Superintendent’s Certificates, and Community Partner Certificates. Anyone can submit a nomination! Parents, staff, students, and community members are all encouraged to nominate someone who deserves a little extra recognition.
Before submitting a nomination, please review the award descriptions and requirements below to learn more about each recognition and determine which award best fits your nominee.
Board of Education Award
Nominees may include students, staff members, or organizations connected to the Lincoln County R-III School District. In alignment with the district’s mission and vision to educate students to achieve excellence through exemplary experiences, trusting relationships, and superior instruction, the Board of Education recognizes individuals and groups whose achievements and contributions inspire growth, promote student success, and positively impact the LCR3 community. The examples below represent activities and accomplishments that may be considered for recognition through a Lincoln County R-III Board of Education Award.
Nomination Process:
The Superintendent’s Office and the Office of Community Relations will work with the Activities Directors and the Building Administrators to ensure eligible students and staff are entered for this award. You can also submit additional nominations online.
The Board of Education Award will be presented in December, April, and June.
Categories of Nominations for the Board of Education Award

- A superior academic accomplishment recognized at the state or national level in any curricular area.
- Significant scholastic honors such as:
- National Merit Scholar or National Merit Semifinalist
- Selection or commendation for programs such as the Missouri Scholars Academy or the Missouri Fine Arts Academy
- Individual academic or competitive achievement placing first, second, or third at a state or national competition.

- Achieving a Superior, Exemplary, or Gold rating at a state or national music or performing arts competition at the high school level (including choir, band, show choir, or similar activities).
- A ranking of Excellent (1st Place) at the Missouri Large Ensemble Festival.
- Recognition or placement at a state or national level performing arts competition, including Show Choir or similar programs.
- Finalist placement at major national competition events or equivalent national performing arts competitions.
- State or national recognition for any fine arts or performing arts submission or competition.

Including FFA, FBLA, Journalism and Media, Archery, ESports, DECA, FCCLA, Robotics, STEM, vocational skills competitions, JROTC, and similar programs.
- First, second, or third place individual placement at a state or national competition.
- Top team placement at the state or national level in a competitive event.
- Significant program honors or recognitions that demonstrate excellence in career and technical education, student organizations, and activities.

Recognition may be provided for exceptional state-level athletic performance, including:
- First- or Second-Team All-State selection.
- Top placements at the MSHSAA State Championships, including:
- Tennis: Top 4 individuals
- Wrestling: Top 3 individuals
- Track & Field: Top 4 individuals
- Cross Country: Top 15 individuals
- Golf: Top 7 individuals
- Team sports earning First-Team All-State recognition, where individual placements are not awarded.
- Teams finishing in the Top 4 at the state level and receiving a state championship plaque.

Schools receiving notable state or national honors, such as:
- National Blue Ribbon School
- Apple Distinguished School
- Leader in Me Lighthouse School
- State or National School of Character
- Missouri Schoolwide Positive Support Award
- Other state or national recognitions demonstrating exemplary school performance (e.g., US News & World Report rankings).

- National Board Certification,m or equivalent, achieved by a Lincoln County R-III educator
- Teacher of the Year or similar honors at the regional, state, or national level.
- Principal or Administrator of the Year or similar honors at the regional, state, or national level.
- Coach of the Year designation by a state or national coaches association.
- Notable recognition of district programs or instructors at the state or national level.
- State or national recognition or honors awarded to support staff members for excellence in service to students, staff, and the school community.
Superintendent’s Certificate
The Superintendent’s Certificate honors individuals or groups of LCR3 students or staff whose contributions exemplify LCR3's mission of exemplary experiences, trusting relationships, and superior instruction and have a meaningful, positive impact on students, staff, and the broader school community.
Nomination Process
Students, staff, and community members may nominate LCR3 students or staff for the Superintendent’s Certificate at any time throughout the school year.
Certificates will be awarded as nominations are received.
Community Partner Certificate
The Community Partner Certificate celebrates a person, organization, or business that provides a meaningful contribution of time, talent, or treasure to support LCR3 students, programs, and/or schools. Staff or students have the opportunity to recognize individuals, businesses, and organizations in the community who partner with our schools to help enhance learning and strengthen support systems.
Nomination Process
Students and staff may submit nominations at any time throughout the school year.
Certificates will be awarded in April.
